Devotees in Kanpur immersed idols of Goddess Durga on Wednesday, concluding the festival on Vijayadashami. The immersion process, which began on Dussehra, saw large idols carried from pandals to designated ghats near the Ganga river amid devotional songs and drumbeats. Celebrations included reciting Devi stutis, dancing, and smearing gulal. Elaborate arrangements were made at immersion sites for crowd management and security, with police and municipal corporation teams deployed to maintain order and clear waste. The rituals marked the end of the Durga Puja celebrations.
