Prosecutors in central New York are relaunching a criminal investigation into alleged gang rape at a Cornell University fraternity chapter. The Tompkins County District Attorney's office is seeking new evidence following a civil lawsuit filed by a former student against seven Chi Phi members. The DA stated the civil claims differ from the woman's original account to police in 2024. The fraternity chapter was banned from campus after the incident, though no criminal charges were filed at the time.
