Hyderabad: Retired Banker Loses ₹98 Lakh to Fake Trading App After Facebook Ad

A 65-year-old retired chief manager from Hyderabad has lost over ₹98 lakh to cyber fraudsters. He was lured by a Facebook advertisement to join a WhatsApp group for stock market investments. Following investment tips and downloading a fake trading app called HSL Cap, he deposited money into various accounts. Although the app showed significant gains, he was unable to withdraw his funds. The fraudsters then demanded further fees, prompting him to contact the bank and discover the app was fake.

हैदराबाद के 65 वर्षीय रिटायर्ड चीफ मैनेजर साइबर ठगों के हाथों ₹98 लाख से ज़्यादा गंवा बैठे हैं। उन्हें शेयर बाज़ार में निवेश के लिए एक WhatsApp ग्रुप में शामिल होने का लालच एक फेसबुक विज्ञापन से मिला। निवेश की सलाह और HSL Cap नाम का एक फेक ट्रेडिंग ऐप डाउनलोड करने के बाद, उन्होंने कई खातों में पैसे जमा किए। ऐप में बड़ा मुनाफ़ा दिख रहा था, लेकिन वह अपने पैसे निकाल नहीं पा रहे थे। इसके बाद ठगों ने और पैसे मांगे, जिस पर उन्होंने बैंक से संपर्क किया और पता चला कि ऐप नकली था।
