The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested 14 rice millers and registered three cases concerning the diversion of fine variety paddy and the substitution of rice supplied to the Food Corporation of India during the Kharif 2025-26 season. Following a complaint, investigations revealed that millers allegedly diverted premium paddy to the open market and supplied cheaper coarse rice instead. This substitution, involving thousands of metric tonnes, has led to an estimated loss of ₹1.69 crore in bonuses, with potential further losses of ₹242 crore averted by timely intervention.

तेलंगाना क्राइम इन्वेस्टिगेशन डिपार्टमेंट (CID) ने खरीफ 2025-26 सीजन के दौरान फाइन वैरायटी धान की हेराफेरी और फूड कॉर्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया को सप्लाई किए गए चावल को बदलने के संबंध में 14 राइस मिलरों को गिरफ्तार किया है और तीन मामले दर्ज किए हैं। शिकायत के बाद, जांच में पता चला कि मिलरों ने कथित तौर पर प्रीमियम धान को खुले बाजार में बेच दिया और उसकी जगह सस्ता मोटा चावल सप्लाई किया। हजारों मीट्रिक टन की इस हेराफेरी से बोनस में अनुमानित ₹1.69 करोड़ का नुकसान हुआ, जबकि समय पर हस्तक्षेप से ₹242 करोड़ के संभावित नुकसान को टाल दिया गया।
