India, Israel Vote Against UN Resolution On Regional Arms Control

India and Israel have voted against a UN draft resolution on conventional arms control at regional and subregional levels, moved by Pakistan and Belarus. India stated that security concerns are not limited by regional boundaries and questioned the resolution's request for the UN Disarmament Commission to start deliberations anew on a subject already covered by multiple consensus outcomes. India also objected to the resolution's approach to maintaining defence capability balance within regions, deeming it unrealistic.
