India is developing an integrated defence logistics system, modelled on the US Defence Logistics Agency, to enhance coordination among its three armed services. Spearheaded by the Department of Military Affairs, the initiative aims to streamline logistics for planned theatre commands. Several joint committees and working groups have been formed to integrate processes, and a tri-services logistics management application is also under development. This move seeks to provide real-time inventory visibility and integrate service-specific software, aligning with the National Logistics Policy.
