Business Standard · sports

India opener Sanju Samson revealed the team's strategy to dominate the powerplay overs, aiming to secure victories early in the innings. This approach was evident in their recent four-wicket win against New Zealand, where Samson's explosive 67 off 33 balls was crucial. India successfully chased a target of 226, achieving their highest-ever successful run chase in T20 Internationals. Samson emphasized that this aggressive powerplay strategy, which has been successful since the 2024 T20 World Cup, is a core part of the team's winning mentality.
