US Lawmakers Urge Secretary of State Over Delhi Detentions

Six US lawmakers, including Pramila Jayapal, have written to Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressing concern over alleged repression and wrongful detentions during student protests in India. They urged him to press the Indian government for transparent investigations into alleged human rights violations and the release of individuals detained unlawfully. This follows New Delhi's rejection of Jayapal's earlier remarks on India's electoral roll revisions, which it deemed unwarranted interference.
