Nifty Logs 8-Week Losing Streak, First in 25 Years; Key Support at 22,600

Economic Times · stocks

The Indian stock market has experienced an unprecedented eight consecutive weeks of losses, a streak not seen in 25 years, surpassing previous records from 2020 and 2008. Historically, such prolonged downturns have often preceded market rebounds, with Nifty showing average gains in subsequent months. However, current global factors like elevated crude prices and rising yields present similarities to the 2008 crisis. Analyst Sudeep Shah highlights 22,600–22,400 as a critical support zone for the Nifty.
