तमिलनाडु सरकार ने सात पहाड़ी शहरों के लिए जलवायु-अनुकूल मास्टर प्लान बनाने को मंजूरी दे दी है। इसके लिए 10.71 करोड़ रुपये मंजूर किए गए हैं। इस पहल से सड़कों, पार्किंग और कचरा प्रबंधन जैसी सुविधाओं में सुधार होगा। पर्यावरण का सटीक आकलन करने के लिए ड्रोन सर्वे और एडवांस्ड मैपिंग का इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है। इसका मकसद अनियोजित विकास से नाजुक इलाकों को बचाना और पहाड़ी बस्तियों को सुरक्षित व टिकाऊ बनाना है।
