Volvo India Ordered to Refund Rs 22.25 Lakh for Luxury SUV Glitches

A Gujarat consumer commission has ordered Volvo and its dealer to refund Rs 22.25 lakh to an Ahmedabad resident for repair and maintenance costs on a luxury XC90 SUV. The buyer, who purchased the vehicle for Rs 93 lakh in 2015, experienced persistent technical issues, including engine and emission problems, leading to frequent workshop visits. Despite Volvo's claims of routine maintenance after extensive use, the commission found the repeated faults and repair dependency caused significant inconvenience and harassment, entitling the buyer to relief.

गुजरात उपभोक्ता आयोग ने वोल्वो और उसके डीलर को अहमदाबाद के एक निवासी को लग्जरी XC90 एसयूवी की मरम्मत और रखरखाव की लागत के लिए 22.25 लाख रुपये वापस करने का आदेश दिया है। खरीदार, जिसने 2015 में 93 लाख रुपये में वाहन खरीदा था, को लगातार तकनीकी समस्याओं का सामना करना पड़ा, जिसमें इंजन और उत्सर्जन की समस्याएं शामिल थीं, जिसके कारण बार-बार वर्कशॉप जाना पड़ा। बार-बार उपयोग के बाद वोल्वो के नियमित रखरखाव के दावों के बावजूद, आयोग ने पाया कि बार-बार होने वाली खराबी और मरम्मत पर निर्भरता से काफी असुविधा और उत्पीड़न हुआ, जिससे खरीदार राहत का हकदार हो गया।
