CCMB Scientists Develop New Genetic Toolkit To Study Tuberculosis Bacteria
The Hindu · india
Scientists at CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) have developed a powerful new genetic toolkit to study the bacteria responsible for Tuberculosis. The toolkit includes 40 new shuttle vectors equipped with fluorescent markers, which make proteins glow under a microscope. This system allows researchers to switch genes on, track proteins within bacterial cells, and investigate protein interactions. The new tools were tested on a harmless relative of the TB bacterium, confirming their ability to highlight key proteins involved in cell growth and division.

CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB)
