BPCL's ₹1 Trillion Refinery Project in Andhra Pradesh Gets Environmental Clearance Nod

The Expert Appraisal Committee has recommended environmental and Coastal Regulation Zone clearance for BPCL's ambitious ₹1.03 trillion greenfield refinery and petrochemical complex in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. This project, set to be built on 5,200 acres, will have a capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum. It includes dedicated zones for green hydrogen and renewables, aiming to boost Andhra Pradesh as an energy hub. The refinery will produce transportation fuels and petrochemicals, with significant employment generation expected during construction and operation phases.

एक्सपर्ट अप्रेजल कमेटी ने आंध्र प्रदेश के नेल्लोर में बीपीसीएल के महत्वाकांक्षी ₹1.03 ट्रिलियन ग्रीनफील्ड रिफाइनरी और पेट्रोकेमिकल कॉम्प्लेक्स के लिए पर्यावरण और कोस्टल रेगुलेशन ज़ोन की मंजूरी की सिफारिश की है। 5,200 एकड़ में बनने वाली इस परियोजना की क्षमता 9 मिलियन टन प्रति वर्ष होगी। इसमें ग्रीन हाइड्रोजन और रिन्यूएबल्स के लिए समर्पित ज़ोन शामिल हैं, जिसका लक्ष्य आंध्र प्रदेश को एक ऊर्जा हब के रूप में बढ़ावा देना है। रिफाइनरी परिवहन ईंधन और पेट्रोकेमिकल्स का उत्पादन करेगी, और निर्माण व संचालन चरणों के दौरान बड़े पैमाने पर रोज़गार सृजन की उम्मीद है।
