CM Satheesan Defends Remarks on Media Practices

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan stated that his recent remarks against unethical media practices were intended to spark a debate. Speaking at the Thrissur Press Club's golden jubilee, he acknowledged the right to criticize leaders but condemned media institutions that operate without decency. Satheesan warned that such behavior degrades journalism and creates a false impression of legitimate reporting. He also mentioned plans to develop Thekkinkadu Maidan into an international tourist square, allocating funds in his budget for the project's initiation.

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री वी.डी. सतीशण ने कहा कि मीडिया के अनैतिक तौर-तरीकों के खिलाफ उनकी हालिया टिप्पणियों का मकसद एक बहस शुरू करना था। थ्रिस्सूर प्रेस क्लब की स्वर्ण जयंती के मौके पर बोलते हुए, उन्होंने नेताओं की आलोचना करने के अधिकार को स्वीकार किया लेकिन उन मीडिया संस्थानों की निंदा की जो बिना किसी शालीनता के काम करते हैं। सतीशण ने चेतावनी दी कि ऐसा व्यवहार पत्रकारिता को नीचा दिखाता है और वैध रिपोर्टिंग की झूठी छाप पैदा करता है। उन्होंने थेक्किनकाडु मैदान को एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यटक चौक के रूप में विकसित करने की योजनाओं का भी उल्लेख किया, जिसमें परियोजना की शुरुआत के लिए उनके बजट में धन आवंटित किया गया है।
