Former Democratic Republic of the Congo President Joseph Kabila has officially allied with armed rebel groups, launching a new political-military coalition called the Front pour la Refondation de la Nation (FRN). This move confirms Kinshasa's accusations of Kabila's ties to the M23-AFC alliance, which is currently fighting government forces and controls significant territory in the east. The coalition spokesperson stated their aim is to "end tyranny by any means necessary."
