शुक्रवार को बेलगावी जिले के सौदत्ती के पास सड़क हादसे में बीजेपी तालुका इकाई के अध्यक्ष वीरुपक्ष ममानी गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। वह सड़क किनारे खड़े थे तभी एक कार ने उन्हें टक्कर मार दी, जिससे उनके सिर, पैर और हाथों में चोटें आईं। ममानी को बाद में इलाज के लिए हुबली के एक अस्पताल ले जाया गया। पुलिस ने घटना के संबंध में मामला दर्ज कर लिया है। यह हादसा पैदल चलने वालों के लिए भी सड़क यात्रा के जोखिमों को उजागर करता है।
