Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has strongly criticized the team's bowling performance in the recent T20 series against West Indies. He questioned the strategy of playing with only three specialist bowlers, which he believes weakens the attack. West Indies consistently scored over 200 runs, highlighting India's bowling struggles. Gavaskar advised the team to include at least four specialist bowlers in the playing XI, with all-rounders serving as additional options. Captain Shreyas Iyer also acknowledged the need for improved bowling, particularly in crucial matches.
