In Antonito, Colorado, a unique house known as Cano's Castle, built by Vietnam War veteran Dominic “Cano” Espinoza, became a famous roadside attraction. Espinoza began construction in 1980, using discarded beer cans, hubcaps, and scrap metal combined with native volcanic stone. The structure, which also served as Espinoza's home, was a distinctive example of folk art. In January 2022, a significant fire damaged the property, destroying the residential section but leaving Espinoza unharmed. The castle had been a local landmark for over four decades.
