MCD Demolishes 543 Properties After Building Collapse

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has demolished 543 properties and sealed 178 in the 17 days following the Satya Niketan building collapse. The corporation also issued show-cause notices to 354 properties for unauthorized construction and passed 98 demolition orders. This action follows the September 6 collapse of a five-storey building, which killed at least seven people. The MCD conducted inspections across all 12 zones, finding most buildings safe but identifying some requiring repairs. A high-powered committee has been formed to review student accommodation safety.

दिल्ली नगर निगम (MCD) ने सत्य निकेतन बिल्डिंग गिरने के बाद 17 दिनों में 543 प्रॉपर्टीज़ गिरा दीं और 178 सील कर दीं। अवैध निर्माण के लिए 354 प्रॉपर्टीज़ को नोटिस भी दिया गया और 98 गिराने के आदेश जारी हुए। यह कार्रवाई 6 सितंबर को हुई पांच मंजिला इमारत गिरने के बाद हुई, जिसमें कम से कम सात लोगों की मौत हो गई थी।
