Maha Stamp Duty Collections Near 50% of Annual Goal Despite No RR Rate Hike

Times of India · business

Maharashtra's registration and stamps department has collected nearly half of its annual revenue target, reaching Rs33,387 crore. This achievement comes despite no increase in ready reckoner rates and a substantial target of Rs68,500 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The collections are primarily driven by a surge in high-value property transactions, with September being the strongest month so far. Officials anticipate further growth during the festive season of Dasara and Diwali, traditionally busy periods for real estate purchases.
