Man Attacks Estranged Wife With Iron Rod, Then Shoots Himself Dead

A 42-year-old man, Santhosh, attacked his estranged wife, Sreeja, with an iron rod at her workplace in Idukki on Friday morning before shooting himself dead. Santhosh, a carpenter, arrived at the post office where Sreeja, 35, works and assaulted her. When locals intervened, he threatened them with a firearm and then took his own life. Sreeja sustained critical injuries and is in serious condition. The couple had been separated for four years, with a divorce case pending.

शुक्रवार सुबह इडुक्की में 42 साल के संतोष ने अपनी अलग रह रही पत्नी श्रीजा पर उसके दफ्तर में लोहे की रॉड से हमला कर दिया। इसके बाद उसने खुद को गोली मारकर जान दे दी। बढ़ई का काम करने वाला संतोष, श्रीजा (35) के पोस्ट ऑफिस पहुंचा और उस पर हमला कर दिया। जब लोगों ने बीच-बचाव की कोशिश की, तो उसने बंदूक दिखाकर धमकाया और फिर खुद को मार लिया। श्रीजा गंभीर रूप से घायल है और उसकी हालत नाजुक बनी हुई है। यह जोड़ा चार साल से अलग रह रहा था और तलाक का मामला चल रहा था।
