A Mumbai court has sentenced a 34-year-old cleaner to one year of rigorous imprisonment for forcibly kissing a saleswoman twice after claiming he "slipped and fell" on her at a Borivli mall. The court dismissed his defence, stating a natural reaction to a fall would not involve kissing. The judge found sufficient proof that the act was intentional, outraging the victim's modesty. This conviction occurred under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, replacing the IPC.
