IIT Student's Parents Protest, Demand Professor's Arrest

Parents of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode staged a hunger strike at Azad Maidan, demanding the arrest of Professor Suryanarayana Doolla. Sahil died by suicide on September 18, and an FIR named Doolla with allegations of abetment to suicide and offences under the SC/ST Act. The family also questioned IIT Bombay's internal inquiry, stating no committee members have contacted them. The institute has relieved Doolla of administrative duties pending investigations by the police.

आईआईटी बॉम्बे के छात्र साहिल वाकोडे के माता-पिता ने प्रोफेसर सूर्य नारायण डोला की गिरफ्तारी की मांग को लेकर आजाद मैदान में भूख हड़ताल की। साहिल ने 18 सितंबर को आत्महत्या कर ली थी, और एक एफआईआर में डोला का नाम आत्महत्या के लिए उकसाने और एससी/एसटी एक्ट के तहत अपराधों के आरोपों के साथ दर्ज किया गया था। परिवार ने आईआईटी बॉम्बे की आंतरिक जांच पर भी सवाल उठाए, यह कहते हुए कि समिति के किसी भी सदस्य ने उनसे संपर्क नहीं किया है। पुलिस की जांच लंबित रहने तक संस्थान ने डोला को प्रशासनिक जिम्मेदारियों से मुक्त कर दिया है।
