Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian revealed he insisted on keeping the platform's name over two decades ago, despite initial criticism. He shared on X that he believed people would eventually say 'I read it on reddit,' using his CEO privilege to overrule objections. This recollection resurfaced after Reddit's official account posted a pun playing on the name. The platform, founded in 2005, has since become a major online discussion hub with millions of users.
