India's First Indigenous Bullet Train B28 Undergoes Crucial Squeeze Test
Times of India - Business · business
India's first indigenous high-speed train, B28, has successfully completed its vehicle body shell test, also known as the "squeeze test," at BEML's Bengaluru facility. This critical safety assessment ensures the train's car body can withstand significant external forces without structural failure during a collision. Designed for an operating speed of 249 kmph, the B28 is being manufactured by BEML, which is producing the first two eight-coach prototypes. The successful completion of this test brings the prototype closer to readiness, with trial runs planned for the Surat-Vapi section by mid-2027.
