The Supreme Court has directed that no individual shall be detained except according to law, particularly concerning peaceful assemblies outside prohibitory zones. Hearing a contempt petition related to protests, the court mandated that Delhi Metro and railway services must operate normally, with restrictions only permissible under Article 19(2). Internet facilities are to remain undisturbed, though lawful restrictions under the IT Act are preserved. The court also ordered that movement of people and vehicles in Delhi should not be unnecessarily obstructed and barricades must be reviewed.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने निर्देश दिया है कि किसी भी व्यक्ति को कानून के अनुसार ही हिरासत में लिया जाएगा, खासकर निषेधाज्ञा क्षेत्रों के बाहर शांतिपूर्ण सभाओं के संबंध में। विरोध प्रदर्शनों से संबंधित अवमानना याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए, अदालत ने आदेश दिया कि दिल्ली मेट्रो और रेलवे सेवाओं को सामान्य रूप से संचालित होना चाहिए, और प्रतिबंध केवल अनुच्छेद 19(2) के तहत ही अनुमेय होंगे। इंटरनेट सुविधाओं को अबाधित रखा जाना चाहिए, हालांकि IT Act के तहत कानूनी प्रतिबंधों को संरक्षित रखा गया है। अदालत ने यह भी आदेश दिया कि दिल्ली में लोगों और वाहनों की आवाजाही में अनावश्यक बाधा नहीं डाली जानी चाहिए और बैरिकेड्स की समीक्षा की जानी चाहिए।
