Sonam Wangchuk Warns of Hunger Strike If Leaders Not Released

Ladakhi activist Sonam Wangchuk has warned of a hunger strike or foot march if political leaders and activists detained in Delhi on Saturday are not released by Sunday. The detainees, including Arvind Kejriwal and Mamata Banerjee, were arrested while attempting to march to Jantar Mantar against alleged Election Commission irregularities. Wangchuk, who supports the protest, stated the country is experiencing an "undeclared emergency." He expressed hope for their swift release but vowed to consider a 'Padyatra' or 'Anshan' if they remain in custody.

लद्दाख के एक्टिविस्ट सोनम वांगचुक ने चेतावनी दी है कि अगर शनिवार को दिल्ली में हिरासत में लिए गए राजनीतिक नेताओं और कार्यकर्ताओं को रविवार तक रिहा नहीं किया गया तो वे भूख हड़ताल या पदयात्रा करेंगे। हिरासत में लिए गए लोगों में अरविंद केजरीवाल और ममता बनर्जी भी शामिल हैं, जिन्हें कथित चुनाव आयोग की अनियमितताओं के खिलाफ जंतर मंतर तक मार्च करने की कोशिश करते समय गिरफ्तार किया गया था। वांगचुक, जो विरोध का समर्थन करते हैं, ने कहा कि देश 'अघोषित आपातकाल' का अनुभव कर रहा है। उन्होंने उनकी शीघ्र रिहाई की उम्मीद जताई लेकिन अगर वे हिरासत में रहे तो 'पदयात्रा' या 'अनशन' पर विचार करने की कसम खाई।
