7.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Panama, Triggering Tsunami Warnings

A powerful 7.6 magnitude earthquake has struck Panama, prompting tsunami warnings along the west coast of Central and South America. The earthquake's epicenter was located near the southern coast, about 14km southwest of Pitaloza Arriba. A subsequent 6.0 magnitude tremor was also recorded. Buildings, schools, and homes were evacuated across Panama as tremors were felt strongly in the capital city. Hazardous tsunami waves are possible along the coasts of several Central and South American countries, including Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico.
