The Indian government has taken steps to ensure sugar prices remain stable during the upcoming festive season. Mills have been permitted to sell sugar produced in October during October or November, in addition to their regular monthly quotas. This measure aims to increase market supply and control prices, which had previously neared ₹70 per kilogram. The All India Sugar Trade Association has welcomed the decision, anticipating better availability and stable wholesale and retail prices nationwide.
