The alleged terrorist co-pilot of a Flydubai flight, Hammam-Al-Hammami, had planned to crash a flight into Israel's Ben Gurion Airport in July. He reportedly canceled this plan at the last moment. Hammami revealed this plan to investigators in the UAE, stating he had gathered information on the airport in June. His initial plan was to take control of the cockpit and crash the plane into buildings in Tel Aviv during landing. He attacked the co-pilot with an axe before passengers and off-duty pilots subdued him.
