Advanced Micro Devices announced an agreement to acquire Fei-Fei Li's World Labs startup for $8.2 billion. World Labs, based in San Francisco, develops spatial-intelligence models, a new AI approach that reasons about the 3D world. Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist, reporting to Lisa Su. The acquisition is anticipated to be finalized by the end of 2026, enhancing AMD's AI capabilities.
