A team of women officers from Karnataka's Bagalkot district has successfully busted an illegal prenatal sex determination and abortion racket operating in Jadar Babaladi village, Maharashtra. The operation, led by Assistant Commissioner Shwetha Beedikar, followed credible information about a gang conducting illegal scans for pregnant women from Bagalkot. Posing as customers, the officers conducted a sting operation, leading to the seizure of scanning machinery and equipment. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994.
