The Hindu · india

The Tamil Nadu government has significantly reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) from 29% to 16% at Chennai airport, aiming to boost air connectivity. Following this reduction, major airlines operating from Chennai have assured the government they will expand their services. One large operator has pledged to increase flights by approximately 25%, while another prominent airline plans an 8% rise. The government hopes this move will encourage airlines to serve more domestic and international destinations from Chennai.
