Punjab Sees Over 93% Drop in Stubble Burning Incidents

Punjab has achieved a significant reduction of over 93% in stubble burning incidents, according to government data. In 2022, there were 49,922 incidents, which decreased to 5,114 in 2025 and just 474 so far in 2026. This success is attributed to the Aam Aadmi Party government's policy of providing substantial subsidies on modern agricultural machinery to farmers. The state is offering up to 80% subsidy for custom hiring centers and farmer producer organizations, and over 50% for individual farmers.

सरकारी आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, पंजाब में पराली जलाने की घटनाओं में 93% से ज़्यादा की बड़ी कमी आई है। 2022 में 49,922 घटनाएं थीं, जो 2025 में घटकर 5,114 और 2026 में अब तक सिर्फ 474 रह गईं। यह सफलता आम आदमी पार्टी सरकार की किसानों को आधुनिक कृषि मशीनरी पर भारी सब्सिडी देने की नीति को वजह माना जा रहा है। राज्य कस्टम हायरिंग सेंटर और किसान उत्पादक संगठनों के लिए 80% तक और व्यक्तिगत किसानों के लिए 50% से ज़्यादा की सब्सिडी दे रहा है।
