Telangana Govt Releases Two DA Instalments, Raising Doubts Over Revised Pay Scales

The Hindu · india

The Telangana government has announced the release of two out of five pending Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments, a move that will cost the exchequer approximately ₹2,500 crore. This partial concession to employee demands, however, has cast doubt on the timely implementation of the revised pay scales. The full release of five instalments would have increased salaries by 15.43%, but the current release amounts to about 5%. Officials estimate that each 1% DA increase incurs a ₹40 crore monthly burden.
