Madras HC Summons Madurai Police Chief Over Discipline Plea

मदुरै शहर के पुलिस कमिश्नर को मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने तलब किया है। यह समन एक जनहित याचिका के बाद जारी हुआ है, जिसमें पुलिस अनुशासन सुनिश्चित करने की मांग की गई है। यह याचिका मीनाक्षी सुंदरेश्वरर मंदिर के पास वर्दी में एक स्पेशल सब-इंस्पेक्टर को सिगरेट पीते हुए देखे जाने के बाद दायर की गई थी। याचिकाकर्ता का तर्क है कि अधिकारी को दी गई आंतरिक चेतावनी और ड्यूटी का बदलाव पर्याप्त नहीं था। वह पूरे राज्य में पुलिस अनुशासन बनाए रखने और संबंधित सेवा नियमों को प्रभावी ढंग से लागू करने के लिए निवारक उपाय करने हेतु कोर्ट के हस्तक्षेप की मांग कर रहा है।
