Vinita Sidhartha, a 59-year-old gamer, searches across India for ancient board games etched onto temple floors. These games, like 'dahdi' and 'navakankari', offer insights into the social and cultural lives of people who frequented temples centuries ago. Researchers like Vinita and the team from Ramsons Kala Pratishtana have documented over 100 such games, often found in shaded areas or elevated platforms. Their discoveries challenge conventional views of temples as solely religious sites, revealing them as historical hubs of daily life and leisure.
