Madras High Court Appoints Board To Manage Chidambaram Temple Administration

Times of India · india

The Madras High Court has observed that the Podhu Dikshitars group has converted the Chidambaram Thillai Nataraja Temple premises into a "food court." To address maladministration, the court has constituted a board of management comprising domain experts to take over temple administration. This board will oversee finances and ensure proper accounting of all income. While daily rituals remain the prerogative of the Podhu Dikshitars, the court expressed dismay over the temple's alleged damage and poor maintenance under their management.
