Indian households using online shopping and payment platforms spend 7.5 per cent more monthly than those who don't, according to SBI Research. This spending gap widens significantly for services and durable goods, with online users spending 23.4% more on services and 24.5% more on durables. However, digital adoption remains uneven, with less than half of Indian households using online platforms. The report highlights a substantial income divide, with only 25.3% of lower-income households using online platforms compared to 69.5% of top-income households.
