Govt Halts Adani Airport's Plan to Shift Mumbai International Flights

Mint · business

The Indian government has temporarily paused Adani Airport's plan to relocate international flights from Mumbai's Terminal 2 to Navi Mumbai. This decision follows a meeting between the civil aviation ministry, airlines, and Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL). The move allows several weeks for the airport operator and carriers to negotiate flight redistribution amidst Terminal 1 redevelopment. AAHL had initially proposed shifting 33% of international flights by October 25, which airlines opposed due to operational concerns. Further discussions are scheduled for October 13 and 20 to finalize a transition plan.
