The Asian Games 2026 cricket final between India and Pakistan saw the continuation of a recent trend: no handshake between the captains during the toss. Indian captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first. This follows similar instances in recent Asia Cup and ICC tournaments where players from both nations have avoided handshakes. While players in other sports at the Asian Games, like table tennis and hockey, have exchanged greetings, the cricket matches have maintained a distance.
