MFs Buy 54% of LIC's Rs 31,552 Crore

ICICI Prudential MF and SBI MF together bought nearly 423.9 million shares worth Rs 17,145 crore in LIC's August offer for sale. This accounted for over half of the Rs 31,552 crore issue, where the government sold a 6.5 per cent stake. ICICI Prudential MF was the largest buyer, increasing its stake significantly. SBI MF also substantially boosted its holding. Overall, mutual funds' stake in LIC surged from less than 1 per cent to 5.

आईसीआईसीआई प्रूडेंशियल एमएफ और एसबीआई एमएफ ने मिलकर एलआईसी के अगस्त ऑफर फॉर सेल में 17,145 करोड़ रुपये के करीब 423.9 मिलियन शेयर खरीदे। यह 31,552 करोड़ रुपये के इश्यू का आधे से ज़्यादा था, जिसमें सरकार ने 6.5% हिस्सेदारी बेची थी। आईसीआईसीआई प्रूडेंशियल एमएफ सबसे बड़ा खरीदार रहा, जिसने अपनी हिस्सेदारी काफी बढ़ाई। एसबीआई एमएफ ने भी अपना होल्डिंग बढ़ाया। कुल मिलाकर, एलआईसी में म्यूचुअल फंड की हिस्सेदारी 1% से बढ़कर 5% हो गई।
