The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has launched an online portal, upevsubsidy.in, to manage electric vehicle purchase subsidies. This initiative is part of the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022. Eligible buyers can apply for reimbursement of a portion of the ex-factory cost, along with exemptions from registration fees and road tax. The portal facilitates application submission, verification, and tracking, ensuring direct transfer of benefits to the registered owner's bank account after verification. This aims to encourage wider adoption of electric vehicles across the state.
