Driving Licence Rules May Soon Require 75% Pass Mark For Tutorials

The Ministry of Road Transport has proposed new norms for driving licences, including raising the pass mark for safe-driving tutorial assessments from 60% to 75%. Select driving licence services, such as changes to name and address, will become free when availed through online Aadhaar authentication. The draft notification also aims to streamline online services, specify acceptable identity documents, and introduce time limits for processing applications. Licencing authorities will have 15 days to approve or reject applications for changes, with a 30-day delay on address changes deemed approval.

सड़क परिवहन मंत्रालय ने ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस के लिए नए नियम प्रस्तावित किए हैं, जिसमें सुरक्षित ड्राइविंग ट्यूटोरियल मूल्यांकन के लिए पास मार्क 60% से बढ़ाकर 75% करना शामिल है। आधार के ऑनलाइन प्रमाणीकरण के माध्यम से प्राप्त किए जाने पर नाम और पते में बदलाव जैसी चुनिंदा ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस सेवाएं मुफ्त हो जाएंगी। मसौदा अधिसूचना का उद्देश्य ऑनलाइन सेवाओं को सुव्यवस्थित करना, स्वीकार्य पहचान दस्तावेजों को निर्दिष्ट करना और आवेदनों के प्रसंस्करण के लिए समय सीमा पेश करना भी है। लाइसेंसिंग अधिकारियों के पास बदलाव के लिए आवेदनों को मंजूरी या अस्वीकार करने के लिए 15 दिन होंगे, जिसमें पते में बदलाव पर 30 दिन की देरी को मंजूरी माना जाएगा।
