Saudi Arabia's coalition forces announced on Friday morning the interception and destruction of a drone launched by Houthi rebels targeting the holy city of Mecca. This incident follows the earlier downing of a missile aimed at western Saudi Arabia. A Houthi spokesperson denied targeting Mecca, stating their attacks are focused on Saudi energy and military infrastructure. The coalition has previously accused the Houthis of targeting Islam's holiest cities. This escalation highlights ongoing hostilities between the Riyadh-backed Yemeni government and Iran-backed Houthis.
