PSU Divestments Can Boost Indian Equity Market

Axis Capital suggests accelerating PSU divestments could address imbalances in India's equity market. Potential divestments worth Rs 6.6 lakh crore can expand the investable universe and ease valuation pressures. This could also reduce incentives for foreign capital outflows, which have occurred despite strong emerging market performance. While domestic inflows have absorbed foreign selling, increased PSU stake sales can deepen market free float and support fiscal consolidation.

एक्सिस कैपिटल का कहना है कि सरकारी कंपनियों (PSU) में हिस्सेदारी बेचने की प्रक्रिया तेज करने से भारतीय शेयर बाजार के असंतुलन दूर हो सकते हैं। करीब 6.6 लाख करोड़ रुपये की हिस्सेदारी बेचने से निवेश के मौके बढ़ेंगे और वैल्यूएशन का दबाव कम होगा। इससे विदेशी पूंजी के बाहर जाने का रुझान भी कम हो सकता है, जो उभरते बाजारों के अच्छे प्रदर्शन के बावजूद हो रहा है।
