The Australian men's and women's national football teams, the Socceroos and Matildas, have initiated legal action against Football Australia (FA). The players' union, Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), is seeking a seven-figure sum, alleging players are not receiving a fair share of revenues from FA's commercial deals. This dispute centers on the interpretation of a 2023 collective bargaining agreement that dictates revenue sharing from ticketing, broadcast, and sponsorship. FA acknowledged the legal action but stated it relates to a separate matter before the National Dispute Resolution Chamber.
