A family from Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, is pursuing a claim for a ₹35,000 debt allegedly given to the British government in 1917 by their ancestor, Seth Jummalal Ruthiya. After sending a legal notice, the UK Debt Management Office responded stating they have no records of the loan and deny responsibility. The Ruthiya family, however, insists they possess supporting documents and are dissatisfied with the response. They plan to gather more evidence and pursue further legal action to seek a clear explanation and repayment, including accrued interest.
