ICE, FBI Agents Barred From US Midterm Polling Places As Monitors
Hindustan Times · politics
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and FBI agents will not be serving as election monitors during the US midterm elections. The Department of Justice issued a ruling on October 28, barring these law enforcement personnel after the NAACP filed a petition alleging potential voter intimidation. While other federal agencies' employees are monitoring, ICE and FBI agents are absent from polling places. The Department of Homeland Security stated agents would only visit polling places to serve warrants, as federal law prohibits armed personnel at elections.
