Times of India · india

Punjab Police have erected heavy barricades on the main Barnala-Mansa road and other routes leading to Mansa. Loaded tippers and trucks have been strategically placed to block roads if necessary, in anticipation of a large gathering. The assembly was called by activists following the killing of anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh Jhota. Commuters are being stopped and questioned, and bus services have been disrupted. This action follows similar police measures taken after another incident in Sangrur in September.
